Taurine

Taurine helps cells hold on to minerals. Overwhelmingly tests on Health Recovery Center clients have shown them to be depleted in Taurine. This explains why so many are depleted in minerals.

 Taurine is the 2nd major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain

An important inhibitory neurotransmitter providing anti-convulsion and anti-anxiety affects.

Stress depletes Taurine. Most cases of sudden death or heart attack occur during stressful events.  When Taurine is depleted, valuable minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium easily wash out of the cells. Without these minerals, nerves in the heart become unstable. Taurine keeps the nerves of the heart muscle cells calm by helping them to hold on minerals. (Particularly valuable is taurine’s potassium -sparing ability- keeping the heart muscle adequately supplied with potassium.)  That alone makes supplementing with a gram of Taurine daily a wise prevention strategy.

In a study involving 51 college-aged women, researchers found that taurine could help increase iron stores significantly in anemic patients.  After two weeks of taking 1 gram of taurine daily, not only were the total body iron stores higher, but also their blood cell levels of iron had increased to a level that would be equivalent to having another 3/4 pint of blood.
